I'm Interested in doing the garage door opener project. Does anyone know if your garage door has alarm contacts if you can use them with the mydooropener a the same time on one contact.

That's what we use ... But typically, alarm systems don't like when their circuitry gets tempered with. Therefore,
you'll most probably need to "hack" something (depending on your alarm's specifics) to make sure the alarm doesn't
think the MyDoorOpener circuitry is some burglar trying to get thru your alarm system ...

In our case, our alarm panel (Paradox) had some provisioning to accommodate for an external relay to be fed
based on I/O events occurring within a specific alarm zone. This is where we actually hooked up the "sensing"
portion for MyDoorOpener.
