so I'm about to set up the contact sensor. in the instructions it says to solder on two low voltage cable to the analog and ground pin.

Ive have never soldered before and have been doing some reading. i have a friend who has done it but he is rusty any tips or tricks i need to know before hand.

Lastly do i have to solder the cables directly on it or can i solder a terminal to the pins so if i ever move or need to replace it don't have to solder the cables again. any recommendation on creating a plug and play type setup would be nice.

I'd definitely solder terminals rather than the cables directly. This makes for a much more cleaner setup and allows for changes down the road.
