Surveillance Camera Settings

Postby drwhiskey » Sun Apr 26, 2015 3:42 pm

Has anyone gotten their webcams to work with the app? I have everything hardware wise going and I'd like to utilize the camera option.
I have a Foscam and I've tried passing the username and password according to some online tutorials I've found, but no luck.

Anyone gotten this to work?

Keep in mind that the camera feature in our app will not provide a streaming video feed but static JPG/PNG images that get pulled at regular intervals.

No idea how to set this up with an AXIS cam. Anyone using an axis cam?

Look at your camera's instructions/manual and find out if it has a URL where it publishes static JPG/PNG images/snapshots at regular intervals. Use that URL and paste it in the MyDoorOpener app.

Here is the link again since the link from previous post was shortened. Add http:// at the beginning of IPAddress:Port/cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=[USERNAME]&pwd=[PASSWORD]

Hello,

I thought I'd write in and tell everyone how I resolved this.
I have a Foscam FI8918W and here is the URL that worked for it:

http://IPAddress:port/snapshot.cgi?user ... d=PASSWORD

I did NOT use any brackets around my username or my password and it worked. Easy to test yourself by filling in the IP Address, Port, Username, and Password and pasting it into your browser. If you see an image, then it will work!

This one is known to work on Foscam FI9821W V2. Remove brackets for your actual username and password.

I've tried the URL suggestions. But the app doesnt appear to do anything different. What should I see if the surveillance feature is working properly?? does the screen refresh every 3 seconds? Currently all I see is the pic I assigned as the associated photo.
