It would be interesting to have more configurability for the open/close buttons. For the moment there are two options; the first is displaying the buttons/photos one by one in different pages and the second option is showing the buttons one bellow the other one, separated by a line. I personally use only the second one because I don’t like to slide between pages.
My suggestion is to have a third option and have them as a 2X2 or 2X4 or 2X6 matrix without any name attached and without any additional open/close button. Just a simple picture with the gate/door /alarm/etc and with the small status dot on the corner.
This will be straight forward to use and will not require two pressings of the button in order to open/close. I personally hate that I have to press twice- one to bring the open close button and the second time to effectively open/close.
This way will also help reaching the correct picture when pressing, while driving for example the car or ride the bike.
